GLENDALE, Ore. — The Oregon Military Department and the Oregon Office of Emergency Management began assisting fire crews on Douglas Complex fires Wednesday.
The Oregon Army National Guard provided five aircrafts prepared to help with fire suppression; three Blackhawk helicopters, a Chinook helicopter and a Lakota helicopter.
125 soldiers with 26 high mobility, multi-wheeled vehicles are also set to be called-up on state active duty within the next 72 hours.
The fire is being managed jointly by the Oregon Department of Forestry and the Oregon State Fire Marshal’s Office.
